JazzKat Amplifiers LLC formed circa 2005 to produce the JazzKat Amplifier. It's original endorser is John Pizzarelli...and Bucky too!
JazzKat began with two principals, Vince Giardina, President and Marty Abbate, V.P Design & Engineering. Marty's background is in sound engineering; Vince as a guitarist-by-night/chiropractor-by-day. They've been close friends for over 30 years growing up a few blocks apart in Lodi, NJ.

A JazzKat amp reflects three basic criteria: light weight, easy to setup, and accurate/clean tone.

The newest JazzKat amp line includes 4 combos in 2 power configurations plus an extension speaker cabinet.
The 1x10 TomKat is rated at 125 watts RMS @ 8-oms. The powerful 2x10 TwinKat, multi-purpose 1x12 PhatKat and flexible-voiced 1x8 AcoustiKat are each rated at 150 watts RMS @ 8-ohms.
Power increases on all models with additional external speakers. All JazzKat amps include an external speaker/line out jack plus 115v/230v power switch for worldwide operation.
The preamp section for JazzKat amps consists of two independent clean channels: one with a 1/4" input jack voiced for instruments and a "combi" XLR jack tuned for microphones and other instruments that sound best with a low frequency roll-off.
All JazzKat amps also share a straight-forward control panel featuring a simple 3-band tone control EQ section plus digital reverb/effects.
The TomKat 1x10, TwinKat 2x10 and PhatKat 1x12 include a single AX7 preamp tube/valve that can be engaged via a switch to add color or compression. The single speakers in these models are full-range designs originally meant for PA systems but applied by JazzKat to its amps for broad dynamics.
The new AcoustiKat opts instead for a Phase Switch to control feedback or change the amp's overall sound balance. The AcoustiKat also adds a 3-way mini-switch [on, off, middle] to modulate the voice of its built-in studio quality soft dome tweeter. The 1x8 woofer specific to the AcoustiKat uses a hemp-cone material designed to bring out the "wood" quality of a guitar, mandolin or violin.
