background
Leveraging his background as an enginneer in fiber optics, Jazz bassist Rick Jones built the first Acoustic Image amp for his own use. The success of this experiment lead him to found Acoustic Image in1997, and in so doing, introduced musicians to a new line of leading-edge tiny yet powerful heads and combos made possible by digital technology.

description|philosophy
As inferred by the company name, Acoustic Image strives to provide transparent reproduction of an acoustic instrument's natural sound. The 3-band EQ and filters are meant only for tuning the amp's inherent response to a particular room.

product line
Acoustic Image manufactures a line of integrated "head" amps and combos.

For heads, the Clarus+ series is rated at 450 watts RMS @ 8-ohms and the Clarus 1 Series III at 240 watts @ 8-ohms.  The Clarus 1 has no effects while the Clarus+ has two independent channels with selectable digital reverb and modulation patches.

In the combo line, Acoustic Image manufactures the Corus+ tuned for guitar and other treble cleff instruments while the Coda+ and Contra Series III are voiced for bass instruments. All feature a downward firing woofer system for dispersing sound around a stage or room.

The Corus+ and Coda+ are rated at 800 watts into the 4-ohm load of the speaker cabinet. The Contra produces 400 watts into the same speaker load.

The Corus+ and Coda+ feature the new Acoustic Image Cabrio modular docking system which allows the head amp [aka Clarus+] to be removed for travel or use with another speaker system...then docked back into the Corus or Coda to use the complete assembly as a combo.

warranty
Acoustic Image will fix any of their products without charge no matter how old they are or whether you are the first owner or any subsequent. Shipping fees extra.

client opinions
"Love my [Acoustic Image] amp. May be the best thing I have ever bought."
- soundislandmusic.com customer

The Acoustic Image Clarus heads are consistently popular with Sound Island musician-customers. For good reason: they simply sound great, have plenty of power, include inputs for both instruments and microphones, can plug into most any speaker load or mains circuit...and all this is tucked into one little 5-lb package.

Acoustic Image's Corus combo works particularly well with classical aka nylon-string guitars, acoustic archtops and other acoustic stringed instruments. The frequency response of the forward facing midrange driver and defeatable tweeter are particularly well tuned to represent the nuances of the acoustic instrument.

The Coda and Contra combos for Bass and keyboards are favored by musicians who prefer placing their speakers on the floor. In this position and slightly tilted on the attached "legs" the Acoustic Image combos help spread the sound around the sttage and room..
